Clearing the UPSC exam is a monumental achievement, often regarded as one of the toughest exams in the world. The journey requires not only intellectual capability but also immense mental toughness, hard work, and perseverance. Many aspirants spend years preparing for this exam, and even then, success is not guaranteed. Despite these challenges, IPS Aashna Chaudhary’s story is a powerful testament to the strength of determination and self-belief. Hailing from Pilkhua in Uttar Pradesh, Aashna’s journey from a small town to becoming an IPS officer is truly inspiring. Despite facing setbacks in her first two attempts at the UPSC exam, she refused to give up. Instead, she used these challenges as opportunities to learn, improve, and push herself harder.
Aashna’s academic journey was also marked by excellence. She achieved an impressive 96.5% in her 12th-grade exams and went on to graduate in English Literature from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University. She further pursued a master’s degree in International Relations from South Asian University, during which she also worked with an NGO supporting underprivileged children.
In 2019, inspired by her family, she attempted the civil services exam. Two initial failures in 2020 and 2021 dented her confidence, but Aashna decided to face her setbacks head-on. Analyzing her mistakes, she revamped her preparation strategy, working harder and smarter, with meticulous revisions and mock tests.
Her persistence paid off when she finally cleared the UPSC exam in her third attempt in 2022, securing an All India Rank of 116. Aashna achieved this without the aid of coaching, relying solely on her self-study methods and strategic preparation. Her success is a reminder that perseverance, combined with a clear vision and relentless effort, can lead to extraordinary achievements.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Aashna is also active on social media, where she inspires her 275K followers on Instagram with her journey and insights.
