Embattled NC Republican must take 'legal action' — or 'accountability': GOP senator
North Carolina's Republican senior U.S. senator on Friday evening called for the state's embattled GOP gubernatorial candidate to make a decision: take accountability or take legal action.
Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson has denied an explosive report this week from CNN's KFILE that he praised slavery and called himself a "Black Nazi" on a pornographic message board years before entering politics. On Friday, another report surfaced a post in which the same account praised Adolf Hitler's autobiographical manifesto.
Sen. Thom Tillis, who has been in office since 2015, joined calls for Robinson to take action — whatever that may be.

"If the reporting on Mark Robinson is a total media fabrication, he needs to take immediate legal action," Tillis wrote on X on Friday evening. "If the reporting is true, he owes it to President Trump and every Republican to take accountability for his actions and put the future of NC & our party before himself."
Tillis' post comes as Robinson has maintained he has no plans to drop out of the race. Notably, ballots for the Nov. 5 general election were scheduled to begin going out Friday.
Meanwhile, Kamala Harris' campaign already came out with a new advertisement tying former President Donald Trump to Robinson.
