Showing at WatchTime New York 2024: Carl Suchy & Söhne Belvedere Titan

Joining the event for the first time, the Austrian watchmaker Carl Suchy & Söhne will showcase its latest creation, the Belvedere Titan, at WatchTime New York 2024. The event, taking place from October 18 to 20 at Manhattan’s Gotham Hall, will feature over thirty-five incredible brands, with many rare independent makers joining the line-up. Carl Suchy & Söhne is no exception, with the new Titan edition building upon the success of 2023’s initial Belvedere launch, with the modern sport-luxury wristwatch embodying both the brand’s Viennese heritage and its efforts in contemporary watchmaking innovation.

With an overall design reflecting Carl Suchy & Söhne’s work in uniting functional logic with Viennese cultural charm, the Belvedere Titan features a smartly designed and hard-wearing titanium case measuring 40.8mm in diameter and 12.2mm in height. The lightweight material’s durability and corrosion resistance make it an ideal choice for active lifestyles, while its matte finish provides an understated, almost “quiet luxury” look. Water resistant to 100m and secured to the wrist via a rubber strap, the watch is practical for everyday use and most sports wear.

As interesting as the design of the case is, the dial of the Titan is just as much if not more so. Here, a decorated lacquered look is at work alongside a unique moving date window— a signature feature of the Belvedere collection. This moving date display, reminiscent of the seconds disk from the Waltz N°1 model, adds a dynamic element to the dial while maintaining legibility.

The dial is further complemented by concave rhodium-plated indices filled with Super-LumiNova, and partially-skeletonized hands, which are also rhodium-plated and filled with lume material. The golden second hand adds a touch of color, standing out against the dial’s grey sporty aesthetic.

Powering the Austrian-made watch is the caliber CSS201 automatic movement, a modified version of the Dubois Dépraz DD90010. This Swiss-made movement, designed by master watchmaker Marc Jenni especially for Carl Suchy & Söhne, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 42-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through the domed sapphire caseback, which also showcases a gold-plated rotor engraved with the iconic Belvedere Palace.

The Carl Suchy & Söhne Belvedere Titan is available now, with pricing marked at €9,900, or just over $11,000 at the time of writing.
