This month saw the launch episode of Strictly Come Dancing after a string of scandals engulfed the show over the last few months.

The likes of Pete Wicks, Nick Knowles and Tasha Ghouri gave a sneak peak at what BBC One viewers may expect for the 20th anniversary series.

However, one contestant may be already rubbing fans up the wrong way, even before the competition has actually started.

With a 40-year career behind her, Toyah Willcox was one of the biggest star names to sign on to compete in the long-running primetime show.

But, some fans have slammed the star after they claimed that she is always name dropping.

On a recent edition of Richard Osman‘s House Of Games, Toyah, 66, recollected some of her greatest showbiz tales.

She prominently referred to her memories of Princess Diana and she also spoke about another huge star.

Fellow musician Robert Fripp married the amateur dancer in 1986 and the pair have been married ever since.

Toyah’s husband has also extensively worked in the music industry as a session musician and collaborator.

On the studio show, she also wanted to remind viewers that he played with the likes of the late David Bowie.

The singer previously confessed her fears about competing in the show as she was asked whether she would like to take part in Strictly before she was revealed as one of the contestants.

She told The Mirror: “Oh, God yeah. Well, I’d have to do it sooner rather than later, because I’m not going to be able to move like that in two years’ time.

“I do understand how hard they work. I’m friends with Angela Rippon and she was extraordinary.”

She added: “But they’re rehearsing 10 hours a day every day. And then on Saturday, they do two shows.

Here's who is matched with who this series...

“As I went there, they invited me to watch them do the live show. Then at nine o’clock, they film the Sunday show, and I’m thinking, ‘Could I do this?’”

The musician will be one of just six women taking part in the new series. In comparison, there are nine men taking part.
