NBC4 anchors Cierra Johnson and Matt Barnes tie the knot in Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — NBC4 Anchors Cierra Johnson and Matt Barnes are married!
The two exchanged their vows on Friday, Sept. 20 in front of a host of family and friends in Columbus.
Johnson and Barnes have been dating for four years and became engaged in December. They met at Ohio University in 2006, where both graduated from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. Their relationship has spanned the pandemic, long distance and three Olympic trips.
Barnes started at NBC4 in 2010 as a weekend sports anchor. He now serves as the morning co-anchor on NBC4 Today. Johnson joined the NBC4 team in 2022 as an anchor/reporter, after working at NBC Bay Area in San Francisco for two years. Both grew up on the east side of central Ohio and are involved in many local charitable organizations, serving on various boards and committees.
The couple wants to thank all the NBC4 viewers for their support as they embark on this new and exciting chapter of their lives.
