A Huge List of Sales: Sandy Liang’s Favorite Slides and $50 Off Alex Mill

You may have noticed some posts from our friends at the Strategist on the Cut. They’ll be dropping in every now and again, sharing their expertise on the basics you don’t have time to research and the weird and wonderful things you don’t yet know you need.

This week, I’ve taken a break from my usual haunts (sorry, J.Crew and Madewell — I’ll see you next week) to show you discounted duds at some other retailers. Plenty of designer goods are on sale at Bloomingdale’s; Wrangler is having a sale on all of its jeans; some of Sheertex’s rip-proof tights are up to half off; and lots of winter mocs (and more) are up to 40 percent off at Merrell. In other words, it’s a good time to freshen up your wardrobe for cooler temps.

If it’s your home that needs sprucing, I’d recommend checking out Target. There are some good deals in the décor and bedding sections, and if you want more, writer Bella Druckman has found all the things we’ve written about that are on sale at Target. Parachute has a few decent bedding deals right now, too. And on the seasonal-décor front, writer Ambar Pardilla put together a guide to all the Halloween decorations she’s found on sale.

If all you want this fall is new tech, Jordan McMahon rounded up all the best Apple products on sale — a list I carefully consulted after my ancient AirPods emitted a concerning noise while I was on a walk a few days ago. Perhaps now is the time I swap them for the Pro version.

As always, make sure to sign up for the new Strategist Sales Alert newsletter to receive each day’s best deals in your inbox. And if you want even more deals, sign up for our regular email newsletter, which includes deals just for newsletter subscribers.

Pottery Barn Skull Icon Drinking Glasses Set

Now that we’re in the latter half of September, I think it’s acceptable to really lean into spooky season — and writer (and staff Halloween head) Ambar Pardilla just launched a guide to all the best Halloween decorations on sale. Pottery Barn has some great tableware, like these skull glasses, which could absolutely be used all year long.

Somos The Artisanal Mexican Chili Crisp Gift Set

This weekend, Strategist readers can take 25 percent off Somos’s salsa macha gift set with the code STRATEGIST25. It’s such a tasty blend of sesame and pumpkin seeds, almonds, and spices that my boyfriend and I nearly ate a whole jar in a week.

Axis-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum

Soko Glam is offering 30 percent off its best products of 2024. I purchased this serum — which, for some reason, is even cheaper than the rest of the product picks — earlier this year. I haven’t been using this long enough to speak on its ability to fade dark spots, but it hasn’t broken my extremely sensitive skin out and it doesn’t pill.

Good Light Taste of Space Lip Milk

Good Light’s newest product, Taste of Space Lip Milk, was most notably hard-launched by Charles Melton at the Golden Globes.

Lots of beauty is up to 25 percent off at Nordstrom this weekend. Tata Harper’s quick-absorbing body oil contains moisturizing grape-seed oil, antioxidant-rich camellia oil, soothing evening-primrose oil, healing calendula-flower extract, and more. It’s also a favorite of Tallulah Willis, who says it is “far and beyond the best, most supple body oil I’ve ever used.”

Wrangler Cowboy Cut Slim Fit Jean

If you’re in need of some new denim, all jeans are 25 percent off at Wrangler this weekend. In our best-in-class guide to mom jeans, senior editor Simone Kitchens describes these slim-cut jeans as “unaffected and unadorned,” like something “fresh out of A.P.C.” Note that two colors, Stonewash (pictured here) and Black, are even cheaper.

Wrangler Mid Rise Westward Corduroy Jean in Mole

I’m also intrigued by these corduroys, which feel very autumnal.

Vuori AllTheFeels Legging

I did some snooping through Vuori’s sale section and found these leggings, a favorite of writer Arielle Avila, are 20 percent off in three colors. She likes the 24-inch inseam and says the length has never been an issue for her five-foot-two frame.

$98 at Vuori

Vuori Banks Short

Former associate editor Louis Cheslaw prefers this pair of shorts to Patagonia’s ubiquitous Baggies. They are “insanely stretchy in the crotch” and are “somehow entirely casual enough for the beach and entirely structured enough for the city.”

Vuori Range Shirt Jacket

Vuori also makes nice-looking non-athleisure clothes, too, like this fleece-lined shacket.
