Wanted Gloversville man hit by unmarked police car in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State police are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian that took place in Poughkeepsie on Thursday. The crash victim, identified as Conrad Bailey, of Gloversville, is allegedly a fugitive from justice.

On September 19 around 5 p.m., an unmarked state police car was heading westbound on Cannon Street in Poughkeepsie in an effort to locate Bailey in connection to an investigation. Troopers were able to locate him near Main Street, but upon noticing the patrols, Bailey ran off on foot.

While fleeing, Bailey reportedly entered the roadway from the north shoulder and collided with an unmarked law enforcement vehicle. He was tended to on the scene by emergency medical personnel before being taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

State police say that charges against Bailey are pending. The investigation remains ongoing.
