Postecoglou reveals bad news on Richarlison’s road to recovery at Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou reveals that Richarlison is not even close to returning to Spurs action on the back of his latest injury.
Richarlison’s injury woes continue
Richarlison has struggled to remain fit for a sustained period since signing for Tottenham a little over two years ago, with the forward picking up six different injuries until the start of this season.
After missing the final few matches of last season and spending much of the summer rehabilitating from his hamstring problem, the striker would have hoped to make a real impact at the start of the new campaign.
Unfortunately, the 27-year-old has picked up yet another injury, having made just two substitute appearances so far this season.
There has been no confirmation from the club about the nature of the former Everton star’s injury or how long he is expected to be out for.
Postecoglou provides Richarlison update
Postecoglou has now revealed that Richarlison is not anywhere close to returning to training and people should stop asking for updates in the meantime.
When asked about the Brazilian’s fitness status, the Tottenham head coach bluntly told Football.London: “[Richarlison] is a fair way off. You’re better off not asking about him until I give an update because he’s not with the first team.”
Spurs Web Opinion
It is a little concerning that the club are not sharing any updates about Richarlison. That suggests that they are still unsure about the injury and whether the striker might need surgical intervention.
At least Spurs have both Solanke and Lankshear back for now though, and Son can cover in the number nine role if needed.
