Rising Dream-Pop Trio Sunday (1994) Signs With Arista Records & Releases Deluxe Debut EP!
Sunday (1994) is one of the most exciting new acts to emerge on the music scene.
The dream-pop trio has already begun amassing a passionate fandom with their brand of melancholy, cinematic tunes, including “Tired Boy” and “Stained Glass Window,” conjuring comparisons to acts like Lana Del Rey, Mazzy Star, Taylor Swift and Ethel Cain.
On Friday (September 20), the group released a deluxe version of their self-titled debut EP, including three additional songs and lead track “Blossom.”
The EP was written and recorded in band members Paige Turner and Lee Newell‘s one-bedroom apartment, alongside their drummer known simply as X.
It’s also their first release under Arista Records, where the band have just signed after overwhelming early success.

“We were left speechless by the overwhelming reaction to our debut EP earlier this year,” they said in a release. “To complete the picture, we’ve added the final brushstrokes, and now present the deluxe edition. Nine songs from a band scattered across the world, all trying to figure out if our lives will become a blockbuster, a cult classic, or maybe something else entirely.”
“Blossom,” they explain, is “about taking life one day at a time. It’s a reminder to open the curtains once in a while; you need sunlight to bloom!”
The new tracks include previous singles “Softly” and “TV Car Chase.”
The group will make their live debut at Los Angeles’ The Echo on September 23, followed by London’s Camden Assembly on September 30 and New York City’s Mercury Lounge on December 3. For ticket info, click here.
