The Soles of Christina Milian’s Shoes Broke on the Red at ‘Wolfs’ Premiere: ‘Vintage Gone Wrong’

Christina Milian is familiar with the pros and cons of wearing vintage shoes. A major pro: Attending the “Wolfs” premiere in a unique pair of pumps that complement her Patou dress. A major con: They might fall apart before the night is over.

The actress and musician hit the town last night in a colorful Patou midi dress and a pair of Laundry by Shelli Segal heels. It seemed like the perfect ensemble to wear to the premiere of Brad Pitt and George Clooney’s latest blockbuster — until the night took an unexpected turn with a wardrobe malfunction. Milian took to her Instagram story to share her experience, posting a Boomerang of a sole that was completely detached from its upper.

She wrote in her caption, “When you decide to wear your vintage heels on the carpet and they instantly fall apart before you take pictures.”

Milian posted another video of the footwear with the caption “vintage gone wrong,” accompanied by a decidedly annoyed emoji. She can be heard explaining, “The bottom of my shoe just, like, pops off on the red carpet. Who are these shoes by?” Checking the label on the sole, she says, “They are by Laundry.”

While the vintage shoes couldn’t stay intact, it made sense why she chose that particular pair of heels to go with her dress. The black peep-toe pump featured a woven black and gold strap along the front and sides, ultimately connecting to an enclosed back portion. This pattern was a nice accent to her brightly colored dress, which featured a blue and yellow design with accents of black and white.

It was a fitted garment with long sleeves, a high neckline, a curved hemline and a chest cutout. The dress is currently available from Mytheresa for 50% off, priced at $645 instead of $1,290.

It’s no surprise Milian opted for this shoe for the “Wolfs” premiere. The “Falling Inn Love” actress likes a statement heel, whether its a white strappy heeled sandal or a heeled mule with a transparent strap.
