Victoria Bowmen Annual General Meeting, Thurs, Sep 19 at 6:30pm – please attend!

Just a reminder that this year’s AGM will be held on Thurs, September 19, 6:30-8:00pm in the Arbutus Room at Saanich Commonweath Place. This is the most important meeting of the year, and there are a lot of items to discuss including Club Bylaws, plus the election of a new Board of Directors to guide the club going forward. We have a slate of officers who have agreed to continue to serve on the Board, so we are discouraging nominations from the floor at the AGM. However, If you or someone you know would like to serve, please contact President Greg Birtwistle.

Please do your best to attend this meeting. Your participation and input are essential in ensuring our club remains a healthy, active organization so that we can continue to enjoy and promote the sport we all love so much.

Shooting date reminders

  • Saanich is now closed for annual maintenance until September 15, so no regular club shoots or JOP during that period.
  • The first shoot back after the maintenance is complete will be the Monday drop in shoot on September 16. After that we will be back to our regularly scheduled club and JOP shoots on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Please note there is no archery Nov 10 and Nov 17

All indoor shooting dates for 2024 are now in the calendar, but be sure check it regularly for any changes to the schedule.

Missing measuring tapes

The club’s two 100m measuring tapes have gone missing – one is yellow and the other blue. They were last seen with the equipment from the Nationals, but are no longer in the containers. If you have them or know where they might be, please let Greg Birtwistle know.

Range Safety Officers still needed

We are still in need of some more Range Safety Officers (RSOs) to help run our club shoots safely, or if you’re currently certified please volunteer on days/evenings when Frank, Helena and Al aren’t available. If you’d like to get certified, the training is free and all online, and the test is ‘open book’. You’ll find more details on the Archery Canada Website. Once you’ve completed it, you can then be added to the club list of RSOs.
