Man gets 40 years related to 2021 death of Fayette County woman

FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A man was sentenced to serve 40 years in state prison in connection with the 2021 death of a woman in Fayette County.
According to the Fayette County District Clerk's Office, Denzale Myles pleaded guilty May 8, ahead of his sentencing, and received a jail credit of 978 days toward his prison time.
His sentence was related to the death of 20-year-old Ezrianna Poncik, which occurred Sept. 4, 2021, at the Green Acres Apartments. Myles was 28 at the time of the incident and charged with her murder, according to past coverage.
County officials said his sentence would also run concurrently with a prior sentence of two years.
