Third arrest made in barbershop murders, Lafayette police say
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the deadly barbershop shooting in late August that claimed two lives, the Lafayette Police Department announced Thursday.
Abram Landry, 24, of Lafayette, was arrested in Lake Charles on Thursday and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, police said. He is awaiting transport back to Lafayette to be booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
Landry and two 17-year-old suspects, Jeffrey Broussard and Shylon Mouton, each face two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of 19-year-old Quincy Duhon Jr. and 48-year-old Johnny Trailer Jr.
The shooting occurred around 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, at a barbershop on Louisiana Avenue between Mudd Avenue and Simcoe Street.
Responding officers found two victims at the scene. Duhon was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Trailer was pronounced dead at the scene. Duhon died from his injuries days later.
Previous reports show that Landry was charged in 2021 in connection with the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Shayne Burke.
This report will be updated as information becomes available.
