REI started September amid its massive Labor Day sale that offered shoppers up to 40% off some of the season's best camping gear from brands like Exped, Kuhl, and REI Co-op, but it was The North Face that stood alone with the most sought-after discounts. Among them was the brand's ultra-popular Wawona 6 tent, which quickly sold out thanks to a sizable markdown. And while it's still sold out today, savvy shoppers have spotted its slightly smaller sibling, the Wawona 4 tent, surprisingly back on sale in time for fall camping.

Typically $400, the four-person Wawona Tent is now on sale for $280, a savings of 30%. This medium-sized tent has earned over 80 five-star ratings from shoppers who say they're "excited" whenever they get the chance to use it. It's currently available in two great colors, but only the Agave Green/Asphalt Grey is on sale. We've seen these tents sell out before, so make sure to pick yours up while they're still in stock. If you miss your chance to score one, it's worth checking out the Coleman Skydome Darkroom Tent or the Big Agnes Big House Tent.

While the larger and wildly popular Wawona 6 Tent had a roomy covered vestibule akin to a garage, the Wawona 4 has a smaller covered area that still offers some space to stash gear outside of the tent. The interior is capable of sleeping four people in total, but, like any four-person tent, it’ll be more comfortable for two, leaving room to stretch out and store gear. The Wawona 4 also has plenty of pockets for books, headlamps, and other small essentials, as well as a gear loop that’s ideal for hanging a camping lantern. The included rainfly keeps you dry on stormy days, while the ample vents keep you cool on hot ones.

The ease of setup was a major part of this tent's appeal. “Easy to pitch and take down,” a shopper said. “We use this as a quick car camping tent in the North Carolina mountains.” Another wrote that it was “easy to set up for a beginner,” adding that there’s “lots of space for two people plus bags/suitcases.”

The spaciousness and comfort of the Wawona 4 were also major selling points. “Very roomy,” a shopper said. “Bought it just for me only in the tent. Lots of space for sleeping and my supplies…Just what I wanted for my car camping needs.” Another wrote, “We were able to fit our queen-size sleeping pad in the center of the tent with space for our gear on each side of us.”

Shoppers also found that the tent held up in unpredictable weather, with one writing, “This tent stayed dry in a torrential downpour,” and another adding, “The tent went up easily, stayed secure and dry through a rainstorm.”

Whether you’re camping with family and friends or flying solo, The North Face’s Wawona 4 Tent is a spacious option that’s easy to set up and can handle the elements. Now that it’s back on sale, those who missed out on the Labor Day price will surely be scooping one up. If you want one for yourself, make sure to buy it ASAP because it's bound to sell out soon.
