Hezbollah blames Israel for pager explosion, vows retaliation

0

Hezbollah has blamed Israel for the explosion of pager communication devices in Lebanon and has warned of retaliation against the country.

According to a Reuters report, a Hezbollah official, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the pager explosions represent “the biggest security breach” the group has faced in nearly a year of ongoing conflict with Israel.

The communication devices (pagers) exploded on Tuesday, September 17, in various parts of Lebanon, affecting Hezbollah members.

Lebanese health officials reported that the explosions killed nine people and injured around 3,000 others.

In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi also held Israel responsible for the attack, emphasizing that the incident must be thoroughly investigated.

Reports suggest that 200 of the injured are in critical condition, and a 10-year-old daughter of a Hezbollah member was killed by the explosion of her father’s pager.

It is said that the exploded pagers were the latest model, imported by Hezbollah in recent months.

While Israel has not officially commented on the explosions, the Israeli Prime Minister’s office released a statement saying it has expanded its military objectives.

The explosion of communication devices in Lebanon has escalated tensions between Hezbollah and Israel, with both Hezbollah and Iran holding Israel responsible.

The incident has caused significant casualties, prompting calls for further investigation and threats of retaliation from Hezbollah.
