My son came home caked head to toe in mud – his school uniform is absolutely wrecked, but his excuse is priceless

THIS is the moment a mum was confronted with her kid covered head to toe in mud at the front door – before he offered her a hilarious promise.

Julieanne Whyte‘s son Ryan, aged eight, had been out playing with sister Rebekah, 10, and their pals after school in Blantyre, Lanarkshire.

His mud slide antics have gone viral on social media[/caption]

Still decked out in his school uniform, the mischievous youngster decided to take advantage of a muddy hill by sliding down it on his stomach.

In a short clip, a group of excited kids can then be seen joining in to give it a go.

But Rebekah joked her younger sibling “did it like 20 million times” before they sheepishly headed home.

And it’s clear from the mud covering him that Ryan did, indeed, have the best time in the dirt.

Wedding photographer Julieanne, 35, filmed her filthy son standing at their front door while he looked delighted with himself.

But the adorable schoolboy did make one promise to his mum, as he said: “See next time, can I change into really, really old clothes that barely fit me?”

Julieanne has since gone viral on social media, with a clip of Ryan’s antics racking up 140,000 views.

Watching him in action, she said: “So that’s my boy there. That’s his school uniform. That is his school uniform.

“What the f***.”

And people have been flooding the comments as they rush to praise her parenting.

Many have applauded the fact Julieanne’s kids aren’t glued to screens, while others were impressed that she managed to keep calm faced with so much mud.

“You don’t see kids out playing like this these days, love it”, gushed one.

A second said: “You’re the best mum! Not telling him off as he’s just made the best memories!”

A third echoed: “The clothes will wash. The fun they are having, the memories, will last a lifetime. Don’t see kids playing in the dirt nowadays.”

A fourth chimed in: “Absolutely love this. The way kids should be! The way we were brought up! Good luck wae the washing.”

“Omg well done mum you handled it perfectly”, cried a fifth.

Meanwhile, a sixth wrote: “He melts my heart. Pure innocence right there. It is so nice to see children enjoying outdoors.”

Speaking about the viral moment, Julieanne told Fabulous: “I was shocked that he hadn’t came in to get changed or ask me, because he normally always does if he’s out playing.

“He always comes in to tell me if he is having a water fight etc so I can be prepared with clothes behind the door for him coming in.

“But he was that happy with himself I couldn’t even feel annoyed about it.

“He actually had a worm on him as well which he just took off and put on the grass. Nothing bothers him.”

And to answer the burning question of whether the school uniform survived or not, she added: “Believe it or not, it went straight in the machine and came out without any stains.

“I still don’t know which polo shirt it was looking at them all now. Thankfully!”
