Man fatally shot in North Lawndale

A man was fatally shot early Wednesday in North Lawndale on the West Side.

A 47-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 4100 block of West Grenshaw Street when a gunman approached on foot and opened fire about 12:05 a.m., striking him in the head, Chicago police said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No one was in custody.
