Afghanistan to face South Africa in ODI Series at Sharjah today

The Afghanistan national cricket team will face South Africa in its first 50-over match today.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board announced that the national team will play three One-Day International (ODI) matches against South Africa starting today, Wednesday, 18th of September).

The match, which Afghanistan is hosting, is scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM local time at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.

Recently, the Afghanistan Cricket Board released the 17-player squad list for these matches.

According to the list, Ibrahim Zadran and Mujeeb Ur Rahman will miss the series due to injuries.

Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead the Afghanistan national team as captain.

It’s worth noting that Afghanistan has faced South Africa twice in 50-over matches, but both games ended in South Africa’s favor.

The matches will take place on September 18th, 20th, and 21st of September at the historic Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE.
