Delays and cancellations hit Heathrow and Gatwick airports

Some passengers due to depart from Heathrow and Gatwick airport woke up to find their flights delayed or cancelled.

Several flights have been delayed at Heathrow and Gatwick today. Some departures have been axed at Heathrow, including by British Airways.

Ryanair told passengers departing from Stansted to arrive at the airport three hours before departure due to security staff shortages.

Elsewhere, commuters at London Bridge can have a sigh of relief after the travel chaos caused by damaged power cables has been fixed overnight.
