Dinesh Karthik Praises Gautam Gambhir’s Protective Instincts for Team Members

On Tuesday, former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik stated that head coach Gautam Gambhir’s previous aggressive outbursts were typically motivated by “protection of his players.”

Karthik stated that the players who are trained by Gambhir will benefit from his aggression, which is never uncalled for.

“The current group of players will appreciate his aggression, which has typically been used to protect his teammates. On the fringes of a Legends League Cricket match here, Karthik informed reporters, “Knowing him, he is not someone who gets angry for the heck of it.”

“It is in his best interest to get the best out of the players, and I’m sure he will have his turn with strong words for whoever it is required,” he continued.

However, Karthik stated that Gambhir may be thinking about his lack of Test cricket coaching expertise as he begins his maiden job, with the opener match against Bangladesh beginning here on Thursday.

“He has participated in a lot of T20 competitions. However, as a coach, this Test series will be entirely fresh for him, therefore it must be on his mind at all times,” Karthik remarked.
“He is an experienced navigator of challenging waters. As a coach, it is crucial that a player has the intelligence to sense the game’s pulse.

It will be interesting to see how it works out because he is still very early in his coaching career. Nonetheless, I am sure he will succeed in every way. It’s been working great for him so far,” Karthik continued.

Karthik stated that although Bangladesh is a confident team after defeating Pakistan 2-0 in their own stadium, things will still be difficult for the Tigers when they play India.

“Bangladesh will initiate it with great confidence. It’s important for India to realize that they are up against a rather different Bangladeshi team,” he stated.
“However, India in India is a quite different story. It won’t be nearly as simple as going outside and defeating other nations in their own territory.

“India has proven to be difficult for numerous teams who have visited, and in the coming weeks, Bangladesh will likewise face difficulties,” he stated.

Karthik stated that the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which begins in Perth on November 22, will be a “wonderful series to watch” because of India’s tenacity and resiliency.

“Team India will face difficulties in the BGT. The Australian team right now is playing well and functions as a cohesive one. They didn’t win the World Test Championship by accident, he claimed.

“It will be tough for India. But considering the grit and resilience that India has, it will be a wonderful series to watch,” he added.
