Deputies: Albany man arrested for felony gun charges

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of an Albany man on felony gun charges. Michael Myrick, 25, faces multiple weapons charges.

Charges

• Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
• Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
• Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon

Deputies say Myrick was arrested on Monday after they were conducting a home visit on Clinton Avenue in Albany as a part of the Gun Involved Violence Elimination Initiative. According to the sheriff's office, deputies found Myrick in possession of a loaded .22 caliber and a defaced semi-automatic handgun.

Law enforcement reports that Myrick did not have the right to possess the firearm and was placed into custody. He was transported to Albany County Correctional Facility and will be arraigned on Tuesday.
