STOWA is presenting the strictly limited-edition Flieger Olymp Silver in honor of the 2024 Paralympic athletes in Paris. Limited to nine editions total, the watch is based upon the original Flieger watch from the 1940s, and like that vintage watch also contains a Unitas movement. The new silver edition comes alongside distinct bronze and gold editions which have also been unveiled to commemorate the champions.

Water resistant to 5 ATM, the 42mm pilot’s watch is uniquely produced in silver (925/000) and secured to the wrist via vintage cowhide leather straps available in brown, black, and grey. The dial follows classic aviation design motifs, featuring a matte black background with white luminous dial prints in Super-Luminova C3 and blued steel hands.

A new feature of the 42-mm-Flieger Olymp from 2024 is the newly developed STOWA manufacture movement M1. Based on a Unitas 6498, with a center seconds conversion, the highlight of the watch is the extraordinary movement with its newly designed bridges. These are provided with a decentralized, sunray-shaped stripe cut starting from the balance. The eye-catching and decorative ornamental cut can be viewed through the anti-reflective sapphire crystal case back.

The Unitas movement is fitted with a stop-seconds function for optimum everyday practicality. The crown wheel and ratchet wheel are finished with a sunburst pattern, the screws are blued and gold engravings are applied. The number of jewels used has increased by one to 18 as a result of the central seconds conversion. Further refinement of the movement is achieved by smoothing and polishing the edges of the bridges.

The new Stowa Flieger Olymp Silver will be limited to nine editions globally, with pricing marked at just about $4,620 when converted from euros.
