Republican thinks 'sellout' J.D. Vance is going to have a hard time being reelected

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) has "abandoned" his state in their time of need, said Republican strategist Susan del Percio.

Speaking to MSNBC on Monday, she and former Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL) addressed the third day in a row that Springfield, Ohio, has experienced bomb threats at its schools. A town festival was also canceled due to fears of violence.

On Sunday, Vance suggested that it was necessary to push made-up claims to draw media attention to the issue of immigration.

Speaking to CNN's Dana Bash, Vance said, "If I have to create stories so that the American media pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that's what I'm going to do."

This caused Del Percio to have an incredulous reaction.

"He is the U.S. senator representing the state of Ohio!" Del Percio exclaimed. "He should be seeking to protect the people of his state. Securing extra funding, if that is what is needed to handle the increase in immigration. Legal immigration, when it comes to the Haitians in Springfield."

She cited Vance's comment about "creating stories," and said, "You know, a constituent can call an office and say there are little green men wandering outside. It doesn't mean it gets repeated as truth."

Del Percio said that Vance has shown "the people of Ohio and the people of this country that he is a sellout. He is just looking to promote a Trump agenda and he doesn't care if it's true or not. And frankly, after I believe Trump and Vance lose, I think he will have a heck of a time with re-election."
