Shooting on Columbus' northeast side leaves one dead

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person has died after a shooting on the northeast side of Columbus Monday afternoon.

According to a Columbus police dispatcher, the shooting was reported at approximately 2:45 p.m. in the 4200 block of Cleveland Avenue.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where medical staff pronounced them dead at 4:02 p.m., according to dispatchers.

Police said the suspect fled the scene south on Cleveland Avenue in a black Honda with a temporary tag. They have not released the identity of the deceased victim as of 5:15 p.m.
