Pittsfield street improvement project work continues
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10)-- Pittsfield continues its street improvement project this week, resulting in a temporary ban on on-street parking on some streets. Construction will start on Wednesday, September 18, and continue through Tuesday, September 24, excluding the weekend.
On Wednesday and Thursday, on-street parking will be prohibited for the milling of Barker Road from the Barkerville Conservation area to the Richmond town line. Due to paving, the same streets will not have on-street parking on Friday, Sept. 20, Monday, Sept. 23, and Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The parking restriction is from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and northbound traffic will be detoured to Tamarack Road. Soundbound traffic will remain open, and drivers should be cautious and alert when traveling through the area.
