Local farms open for pumpkin picking, corn mazes

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Several local farms are gearing up for another season of pumpkin picking and corn mazes across the Capital Region. From a Luke Bryan-themed corn maze to picking pumpkins off the vine, there are multiple chances to partake in the classic spooky-season traditions.

Below are various local farms that will open for the season in the coming weeks. More information about each farm can be found on its website, which is linked below.

Pumpkin patches

Albany County

  • Stanton's Feura Farm: 2045 New Scotland Rd., Slingerlands
    • The farm officially opens for U-Pick pumpkins on Saturday, Sept. 21. Its hours are Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. During business hours, the farm also offers a corn and hay maze.

Montgomery County

  • Bellinger's Orchard: 685 Argersinger Rd, Fultonville
    • The pumpkin patch at Bellinger's Orchard will open on Saturday, Sept. 21. The orchard is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The orchard's corn maze is dinosaur-themed this year, and its last entry is at 4:15 p.m.
  • Dellavale Farm: 783 Pattersonville Rd, Amsterdam
    • Dellavale's pumpkin patch opening weekend is Saturday, Sept. 28, and open on the weekends only from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They also have a corn maze as part of their fall festivities.

Rensselaer County

  • Kristy's Barn: 2385 Brookview Rd, Schodack
    • Kristy's Barn is open for U Pick Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Swartz Farm: 1532 Eleanor Dr., Schodack
    • The farm opened on Saturday, Sept. 14. It is open seven days a week, from noon to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The Swartz Farm corn maze is open during store hours, and their Real Pick-It-Off-the-Vine Pumpkin Patch will start on Saturday, Sept. 28.
  • Liberty Ridge Farm: 29 Bevis Rd., Schaghticoke
    • Liberty Ridge Farm's pumpkin patch and corn maze are open on Saturday, Sept. 14. They are open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saratoga County

  • Ellms Family Farm: 448 Charlton Rd, Ballston Spa
    • The farm is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in October and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends in September and October. They also have a corn maze for adults and a smaller maze for kids.
  • Schuyler Farms: 1124 Route 29, Schuylerville
    • Pumpkin season kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 21, on the farm. The hours of operation in September are Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The farm hours change in October to Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The farm also offers a corn maze open until 10 p.m. in September and a haunted corn maze every Friday and Saturday in October.

Schoharie County

  • "Pick a Pumpkin" Pumpkin Patch: 2716 Creek Rd, Esperance
    • Pick a Pumpkin Pumpkin Patch will open on Saturday, Sept. 21. They will be open on Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. They will also be open for Indigenous Peoples Day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Fox Valley Vail Farms: 247 Zimmer Road, Schoharie
    • The farm has U-Pick pumpkins from 9 a.m. to dark, Friday through Sunday.
