Inside Nick Grimshaw’s 40th birthday party featuring bizarre cake, private party bus & VERY famous guestlist
NICK GRIMSHAW’s 40th birthday bash in Ibiza last month turned to disaster when his rented villa was raided by thieves.
But the DJ put the world to rights when he threw a huge party in London on Saturday to help him celebrate all over again.
Nick Grimshaw celebrated his 40th birthday a month late with a huge party in London and Harry Styles attended[/caption] The DJ had a bowl of chips instead of a cake[/caption]His old pal Harry Styles was among a host of star guests at the new Soho Mews House in Mayfair.
Others attending the bash included model Alexa Chung, singer Jessie Ware and socialite Pixie Geldof – who belted out a karaoke cover of Blondie’s Call Me.
The guests enjoyed a dinner and were entertained by a live band.
Instead of having a birthday cake, former Radio 1 DJ Nick – who turned 40 on August 14 – was pictured with a giant bowl of chips that had candles in it.
Now that’s something I can get behind.
Nick then transported all his mates by private bus to a nearby venue dubbed “Club Grim”, in a nod to his name, where they partied till the early hours.
Little Mix singer turned solo star Jade Thirlwall, Gossip’s Beth Ditto and celebrity chef Angela Hartnett all joined the party, during which RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jonbers Blonde entertained them by lip-syncing along to Madonna’s hit Express Yourself.
And as mementos for guests, Nick even had T-shirts made featuring images of his favourite things, including Corona beer, cigarettes and Discos crisps.
He’s not quite the party animal he once was, but Nick can still throw a brilliant bash.
Best seat in house, Rita

SNOW PATROL could land their first No1 album in 18 years this Friday with their comeback record The Forest Is The Path.
They have scored seven Top Ten records but Eyes Open, from 2006 which featured their hit Chasing Cars, is their only chart-topper.
But it’s not a done deal.
They have competition from London Grammar’s fourth album The Greatest Love, which is currently at No2.
If Snow Patrol can stay at the top for Friday’s charts, it will be a relief for the Northern Irish band who have had a tricky year.
Band members Jonny Quinn and Paul Wilson suddenly quit last September.
But with the new album and a tour kicking off in January, the group is getting back on form.
Sir Brian ‘on the mend’
SIR BRIAN MAY’s wife is convinced the rocker will recover after his stroke.
Ex-EastEnders star Anita Dobson said the Queen guitarist is in good spirits after his scare, which left him unable to use his left arm.

“He’s doing great – he’s on the road, he’s doing really, really well. We’re very pleased.
“I’m completely confident he’ll make a full recovery.
“You have to take things slowly, chill a bit. He’s not that kind of animal!”
Referring to Sir Brian’s quip that his ambulance ride was “very exciting”, Anita added: “It’s good to keep a sense of humour.”
Molly's Oasis shock
LIAM GALLAGHER’s daughter Molly Moorish-Gallagher was just as surprised by the Oasis reunion as the rest of us.
The model told OK! mag: “I found out a few days before, so I knew – but I was surprised they were doing it.
“I am really looking forward to the tour.
“I’ve never seen Oasis perform live.
“I’ve seen them perform separately but never together, so it will be good.”
