'Job done was outstanding': Trump strikes new tone in late night Truth Social post

Former President Donald Trump struck a rare tone in a late night Truth Social post — one of gratitude.

Trump expressed thanks to supporters who raised concerns and U.S. Secret Service officers who shielded him from the second assassination attempt the Republican presidential nominee has faced in roughly two months.

"I would like to thank everyone for your concern and well wishes," Trump wrote. " It was certainly an interesting day!"

Trump specifically thanked the Palm Beach County sheriff who briefed reporters Sunday on the apprehension of suspect Ryan Routh.

Trump was reportedly golfing when the shooter blasted off a shot in what CNN reported was an assassination Trump.

"I want to thank the U.S. Secret Service, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and his Office of brave and dedicated Patriots, and, all of Law Enforcement, for the incredible job done today at Trump International in keeping me, as the 45th President of the United States, and the Republican Nominee in the upcoming Presidential Election, SAFE," Trump wrote.

"THE JOB DONE WAS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. I AM VERY PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!"

Trump was also the apparent target of a would-be assassin on July 13 when gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, shot at the former president at a Pennsylvania rally.

Crooks was killed by the U.S. Secret Service.
