At 76, Hillary Clinton is taking stock of her life – its wins and its losses – in a new memoir. Inspired by a Joni Mitchell lyric, “Something Lost, Something Gained” aims to present, she says, a snapshot of how she sees the world now. It’s more personal than some of her previous works, especially when describing her marriage to Bill, whom she calls "my best friend.” But Clinton talks plenty of politics, too, and makes clear the 2016 loss to Donald Trump still hurts. In an Associated Press interview, Clinton says she’s optimistic that Kamala Harris will succeed where she didn’t, becoming the first female U.S. president.
