NATIONAL SUMMARY
A tropical storm will spread heavy rain and gusty winds
through the Carolinas and southern Virginia tomorrow. At
the coast there can be rough surf and storm surge flooding;
otherwise, there can be flooding and isolated tornadoes.
Meanwhile, a storm moving through the West will bring rain,
some mixed with snow in the higher elevations, and much
cooler weather. Across the Rockies it will be turning very
windy with spotty afternoon thundershowers in the high
terrain. Any thundershower can bring locally damaging winds.
Warm to hot weather across the Plains will continue with an
afternoon thunderstorm for most. Elsewhere, showers and
thunderstorms will rumble across Louisiana, Mississippi,
Alabama and Georgia. Dry, warm and primarily sunny
conditions will continue in the Northeast and Midwest.
