These St. Martin, St. Mary schools will be reopening Monday
LOUISIANA (KLFY) -- Hurricane Francine caused schools across Acadiana to close last week but many have since reopened. On Monday, more schools in St. Martin and St. Mary parishes will resume classes.
See what schools will be open on Monday:
St. Martin Parish
- Stephensville Elementary
St. Mary Parish
- All St. Mary Parish School System campuses, except Aucoin Elementary in Amelia
St. Mary Parish Superintendent Buffy Fegenbush said the school system understands that electricity may still be a concern for many families and that school uniforms may not be readily available due to Hurricane Francine.
Students who do not have uniforms readily available can attend school wearing "school-appropriate" clothing, Fegenbush said.
"The St. Martin Parish School System will be working with local organizations to assist families as much as possible during this time. We respect any decisions you may need to make and we are here to support you," Fegenbush said.
Families with questions or need assistance are asked to contact their school site.
