Report: Man United are tracking attacker who is firmly on Tottenham’s radar
Fabrizio Romano reveals that Manchester United are now keeping an eye on rumoured Tottenham target Eberechi Eze with a view to signing the attacking midfielder next summer.
Eberechi Eze was linked with Spurs all summer
Eze was mooted as one of the names on Spurs’ radar all throughout the summer window (GiveMeSport).
Several outlets suggested that the Lilywhites had explored the possibility of activating the attacking midfielder’s release clause, which was thought to be worth £60m plus add-ons (The Times).
However, the clause reportedly expired a few weeks before the window slammed shut (Daily Mail) with the 25-year-old staying put at Selhurst Park.
Some sources have claimed recently that the clause will be active once again next summer (Daily Mail), thus raising the possibility of Tottenham reigniting their interest in the England international next year.
Man United and Spurs both like the look of Eze
It turns out that Spurs might have to contend with competition from Manchester United, with Romano now revealing that the Red Devils are keeping an eye on the Palace star.
The journalist said on The Daily Briefing: “For sure, Eze is a player United have been scouting and monitoring as they appreciate his ability, the same was true of Michael Olise while he was at Crystal Palace but the deal was too expensive and he joined Bayern Munich instead.
“In the next months, United will be tracking several wingers, and in summer 2025 there is a concrete chance that they will invest money in a new signing for that position.
“For now, I’m not in a position to say that it’s guaranteed that they’ll move for Eze, or who will be their top target, but they will consider bringing in a new winger, and so they will be following several players in the next months.
“I will try to keep you posted on the players they like, on the options they have on the table, on the possibilities they are considering, but for sure Man United are keeping a close eye on opportunities in that position for 2025.”

Whether or not Tottenham go for Eze next summer could depend on how Lucas Bergvall develops over the course of the season. There is no doubt that Spurs would have to contend with a lot of competition if they do decide to pursue the 25-year-old.
