India A secured a commanding victory over India D in the Duleep Trophy on September 15, despite a resilient century from Ricky Bhui. Led by Shreyas Iyer, India A bounced back from their previous defeat to India B, thanks to exceptional performances from both their batting and bowling departments.

India D, chasing a mammoth target of 488, were bundled out for 301 runs in their final innings. Ricky Bhui stood tall for his side, scoring a valiant 113 off 195 balls, but received little support from the rest of the batting lineup. The lack of partnerships and consistent dismissals saw India D’s falter, with no other batsman able to stay at the crease long enough to build momentum.

India A’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian, who were instrumental in securing the win. Mulani’s impressive spell of 4/33 and Kotian’s 4/73 dismantled India D’s middle and lower order, sealing the 186-run victory. Mulani’s contribution with the ball followed his earlier heroics with the bat, further solidifying his claim to the Player of the Match award.

Earlier in the match, India A had posted a formidable total, largely due to the efforts of Pratham Singh and Tilak Varma. Singh’s 112 off 189 balls and Varma’s unbeaten 111 off 193 deliveries set the stage for India D’s uphill battle. Despite Bhui’s valiant century, India D fell well short of the target, unable to handle the pressure exerted by India A’s bowlers.
