Hotel worker reveals the two freebies you can get during a stay – as long as you ask
A HOTEL worker has revealed two freebies which you can get, provided you ask for them.
Savvy holidaymakers looking to make the most of their trip away may want to take advantage of complimentary items provided by the accommodation.
Patrick van den Aakster, a manager at Corendon Amsterdam New-West in the Netherlands, revealed how guests can be taken by surprise by some of the free goods.
He told Huffington Post: “During my time at the front desk, a guest checking out mentioned he urgently needed to find a convenience store because he had forgotten his toothbrush and hadn’t brushed his teeth in four days.
“I informed him that we actually provide complimentary toothbrushes at the front desk.
“He was surprised and admitted he hadn’t thought to ask.”
Whether you’re going away for business or pleasure, nobody wants to be feeling self-conscious or running around to find a shop due to forgetting personal grooming items.
While it’s not guaranteed, many hotels also offer combs – if guests ask for them.
Makeup wipes are also sometimes given away for free.
The comments come after news that a pretty hotel in Cornwall revealed plans to build a new infinity pool on its subtropical site.
Even though it’s just a stone’s throw away from the popular seaside of Falmouth, Hotel Meudon is described as a “secluded paradise” on its website.
The hotel’s best feature is its surroundings in the Cornish countryside.
Packed with plant life from Cornwall, the valley gardens are a winding maze of footpaths that lead to the hotel’s private beach, Bream Cove.
The sheltered cove gives walkers direct access to the South West Coast Path and Rosemullion Headland.
And the hotel is also set to expand its offering after plans were put forward to build six lodges on the property.
The plans also included a 20m outdoor heated infinity-edged swimming pool and a casual dining restaurant.
