Olympic Madalist Manu Bhaker meets BSF Jawans and witnesses beating retreat parade at Wagah border

New Delhi: Manu Bhaker, an Indian shooting star who won two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics 2024 attended the Wagah Border retreat ceremony Friday evening. During the ceremony, she interacted with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, praising their efforts and receiving a warm welcome from BSF officials. Manu Bhaker said she had heard a lot about this iconic site where the borders of India and Pakistan meet.

When she attended the beating retreat parade she wrote on X (Formerly Twitter),  “It was a profound honour to meet our courageous BSF jawans at the Wagah Border. Witnessing the spectacular Beating Retreat parade was an unforgettable experience. My heartfelt thanks to the BSF for the gracious honour and warm reception at the Wagah Border I salute these valiant soldiers who steadfastly guard our nation’s frontiers. Jai Hind!”

Manu Bhaker has been in the headlines for various stuff, like showing her bronze medal box with the fans on social media and recently she also visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Saturday to offer her gratitude. Accompanied by her family, Manu Bhaker paid obeisance at the gurdwara sahib and expressed her sense of tranquillity after her visit.

Speaking about her experience, Manu Bhaker said this was her first visit to Punjab and to the Golden Temple. She expressed her satisfaction and peace after visiting the sacred gurdwara sahib. In her message, Manu Bhaker advised the youth to understand the importance of setting clear goals and working diligently to achieve them. “When you set a goal, even the Almighty supports you in fulfilling it,” she said.
