Mangaluru's residents of Pavoor-Uliya Island protest against illegal sand extraction in Nethravati River

Residents of Pavoor-Uliya Island, supported by the Catholic Sabha, protested against illegal sand extraction by standing in the Nethravati River with placards. Despite appeals to authorities, the issue persists, threatening the island's existence. The Mines and Geology Department conducted an inspection but found no illegal activity.
