Spurs only have one win this season

Tottenham’s loss at St James’ Park before the international break has increased the importance of this game for the Lilywhites, who will need to get a result on Sunday.

Even though we are only three games into the season, another loss will see pressure mount on Ange Postecoglou and Spurs.

However, the Tottenham boss and the players might be looking at this game on Sunday as a great opportunity to make a statement and build momentum.

They will feel that their performances so far this season have deserved more than just four points and Postecoglou would hope that his forwards have their finishing boots on this time.

Sam Allardyce predicts North London Derby score

Allardyce believes that both sides need to be a little cautious and look to expose the chinks in the opposition’s armour.

The 69-year-old told No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast: “It’s going to be a great game, very interesting.

“The managers will have to be tactically astute throughout the game to cover what they may need to cover, to block off what the opposition are doing for a while or to try to expose a weakness in the opposition’s defence.

“We want end to end and action in the box to show the quality both teams have got. My score is 2-1 to Arsenal. A 2-1, but I shall be sat down with a cup of tea and a biscuit.”

The one thing we know for sure is that Postecoglou will ask his side to take the game to Arsenal and commit bodies forward. He certainly will not be cautious as Allardyce suggests as that is not in the Australian’s DNA.
