'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' author coming to The Egg

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Egg in Albany will be hosting a live show with bestselling author Jeff Kinney, creator of the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" children's book series. The event, presented alongside The Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza and the New York State Writers Institute, is scheduled for October 25 at 6 p.m.

The event, called "The Hot Mess Show," will commemorate the upcoming October 22 launch of "Hot Mess," which will be the 19th book in the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series. The smash hit saga has sold over 290 million copies worldwide.

The interactive show will feature Kinney and audience members participating in games, activities, and discussions centered on celebrating the stories of the series' main character, Greg Heffley, and his adventures through middle school. Each ticket sold will admit two people and the purchase will come with a pre-signed copy of the new book.
