LEGO fan blows nose and shoots out brick that’s been stuck up there for 26 years

A LEGO fan has been carrying a brick stuck up the nose for decades – without knowing it was there.

An Arizona resident has revealed a gross discovery that emerged from their nasal cavity during his morning shower.

Andi Norton, 32, from Phoenix, US, was left flabbergasted after a big sneeze brought out a LEGO piece which had been lodged in their nose since childhood.

For decades, Andi thought the congestion and sensitivity were caused by allergies, Newsweek reports.

They said: ‘My whole life I’ve had sinus sensitivity, allergies, and issues with congestion.

‘Since I am allergic to cats, dogs, grass, many of the native trees, and dust, and I’ve always been exposed to one or more of these things, I lived my life assuming any congestion issues were just simply caused by the allergies.’

Having always suffered from sinus infections, Andi was told by a doctor to try blow out the nose in a warm shower.

After months of doing so, it finally yielded results when a ‘really hard’ piece flew out onto the shower floor.

Andi realised it was a ‘piece of LEGO’ when picking it up.

‘Suddenly, the memory of something I had completely forgotten about in my adult life came flooding back to me,’ Andi said.

In 1998, Andi was playing with the iconic plastic toys when they thought of sticking a dot brick into the nose which then got stuck.

Andi explained how he tried to rescue it first before going to the adults for help: ‘I came up with the brilliant idea of making a Lego man minifigure and using him to put it into my nose and connect the dot piece to his head like a hat, and pull it all out at once.

‘Unfortunately, the head got stuck in my nose too, and only the body of the minifig came out.’

After admitting what had happened, Andi’s mum used tweezers to get the minifigure head out but she couldn’t spot any other pieces.

‘We thought any residual discomfort was from the experience of the whole thing and just moved forward.

‘We never thought to follow up on the situation with any medical staff.’

Children often get things caught in their ear, nose or throat – more than 4,000 foreign bodies are removed each year in the US, according to the National Institutes of Health.

Now Andi is able to ‘take a deep breath through my nose without feeling restricted, which is something I’ve never been able to do.’

After sharing their quirky story on Reddit, Andi has decided to keep the LEGO piece as a ‘silly keepsake.’
