Sam Asghari Reveals if He Read Britney Spears' Book, Talks Their First Meeting & Why He's Silent on Their Split

Sam Asghari made some rare comments about his relationship with Britney Spears.

The 30-year-old aspiring actor divorced the 42-year-old Princess of Pop in August 2023, and they finalized their separation earlier this year.

During a new interview, Sam opened up about the pop star, revealing details including if he’d read her memoir “The Woman in Me,” a recollection about their first meeting and why he’s silent on their split. He even had something brief to say about her conservatorship.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sam explained that he did not read the memoir. Why?

“Because I was there,” he said simply.

If you forgot, Sam met Britney on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016.

“I was focused on work; I was there to be professional,” he recalled. “But at the same time, you know, things happen.”

Britney also felt the spark, and one of her assistants got in touch to arrange a meeting, which he described as “so natural.”

Now that their relationship is over, Sam shared his mentality for moving on.

“When something ends, of course, there’s going to be a moment where you are sad or upset, but just be happy that it ever even happened,” he shared. “Celebrate the past. That’s how I look at it.”

Amid rumors of a potential NDA, Sam said that he simply would never discuss the finer details of his divorce. Why? “If my life is private, it’s private,” he said.

“It’s just the values that I have,” Sam added.

In fact, a friend said that Sam had not even spoken to him about his relationship with Britney.

“I really don’t know too many details,” he explained. “Sam always handled it in an honorable, mature way. But what actually happened? I wouldn’t be privileged to know.”

Sam made one comment, which he confirmed was about his ex-wife and seemingly touched on her conservatorship: “There were so many bad people in their life that took advantage of this person.”
