'This is life changing': Shawnee County director details Mental Health Unit for inmates

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Shawnee County Department of Corrections Director Brian Cole joined the 27 News Morning crew with a look at the department's Mental Health Unit expansion.

"This is life changing for the Department of Corrections," Director Cole said. "We're moving forward to be able to provide safer environment for our staff, a safer environment for those who are going to be using the services as our inmates. It's just going to be a new way of doing business, a way to move into the future that's just going to be something we didn't think we would ever get to."
