OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Disney on Ice is bringing a little magic to the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds.

According to the Oklahoma State Fair, Disney on Ice is presenting "Magic in the Stars" at the Jim Norick Arena September 12-16.

KFOR's Lucas Ross spoke with some cast members Friday morning about what guests can expect to see.

Cast member Mia has been with Disney for three years. She walked Lucas through some of the props guests might see on the ice like Maui's fish hook, Aladdin's magic lamp, Tiana's menu and more.

"So, within our show we have a variety of your favorite Disney stories," Mia said.

Lucas also spoke with cast member Cassandra, who has been skating for almost 25 years and is performing her 11th year with the show. She plays the role of Tia Pepa from Disney's Encanto.

"We've been working really hard rehearsing, performing for an empty arena so it was so nice to see everyone in the stands dressed up and singing along with us." Cassandra said.

She noted that this year's show is unique as it features 55 Disney characters ranging from the old classics to new favorites.

Cast member Ethan is an ensemble performer and is in his fourth tour with Disney on Ice. He explained that the show "Magic in the Stars" focuses on the night sky.

"So the whole goal of the show is to bring the audience up into the night sky and that's why we have these beautiful stars up here in the grid," he said.

Ethan uses fire poi which is lit on fire during the Moana portion of the show. He says fire poi is a popular way to tell stories in New Zealand and among Pacific Islanders.

Lucas got an up-close look at some of the casts' costumes with cast member Madelyn. She's been skating for about 21 years and she told Lucas all about the opening costumes for "All You Need Is A Star".

"Each one is unique to each skater," Madelyn said. "This is an ensemble number, the first one of the show. So, you'll see all of us come out and we have our great characters come out as well".

While talking with Madelyn, Lucas got a surprise visit from Minnie Mouse as she showed off her skills on the ice.

Lucas also got to see some prop demonstrations with cast member T.J., who is in his second year with Disney on Ice.

According to T.J., the Moana portion of the show features large props that resemble waves as the cast tells her story.

"These skaters right here help tell the story of Moana, who is a way-finding princess," he said. "This is one of my favorite parts of the story and the entire show. It really comes to together to create such a beautiful picture."

He also explained how 2024's show is a celebration of so many different Disney stories.
