Football forecast: Cloudy skies expected for Friday night and beyond

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- While there is not as much home action for football teams this weekend, weather-wise the playing conditions will be different. The taste of fall we recently enjoyed is long gone, and players and fans alike will experience a summer like feel.

The remnants of Hurricane Francine will move closer to the Ohio River valley going into the weekend, but most of the rain chances will stay outside of the state. By Friday night, the majority of fans will see mostly cloudy skies. A couple of areas will have more clearing from time to time.

It will be a warm evening as well with temperatures starting in the low 80s by kickoff. The air will eventually cool down to just the low 70s by the final whistle. There will be a slight breeze from the southeast at 5-10 mph.

On Saturday, Ohio University will also kick off under mostly cloudy skies. At times there will also be a few more breaks of sunshine. The unseasonable weather will keep Athens in the mid 80s during the course of the afternoon. There is the fainted chance for a light rain showers throughout the day.
