Gov. Hochul has skin cancer
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Governor Kathy Hochul announced Thursday she was diagnosed with a form of skin cancer.
"A few weeks ago at a routine check-up, my doctor discovered a Basal cell carcinoma. A tiny, tiny speck on my nose. You can't see it," said Hochul.
Hochul said she would have a small removal procedure Friday morning but assured she would return to work afterward. "There will be a bandage on my nose."
The governor also encouraged New Yorkers to get regular checkups "in excess of precaution."
