23-year-old dies, one seriously injured in Marshall Co. crash

MARSHALL COUNTY (KSNT) - A 23-year-old woman died and an 89-year-old woman was seriously injured in a Marshall County crash on Wednesday.

At 11:49 a.m. 23-year-old Emily Jay Larson was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee west on U36. The 89-year-old was driving a 2020 Buck Enclave east on U36. Larson's vehicle crossed the center line, striking the 89-year-old's vehicle. The Jeep came to rest on the road and the Buick came to rest on the shoulder, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) crash log.

Neither of the individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the KHP. The 89-year-old woman was taken to a hospital in Lincoln, NE for treatment of serious injuries.

Larson's next of kin was notified by the Marysville Police Department.
