Tottenham vs Arsenal – Lilywhite vs Red

The North London Derby is one of the most iconic fixtures in Premier League history, with the rivalry between the two clubs stretching back over 100 years since the Gunners first invaded Tottenham’s North London territory.

The two sides have always worn their traditional white and red kits respectively for the fixture since the colours do not clash.

However, that is about to change this Sunday, with The Athletic revealing that the visiting side will wear their black away kit instead.

Why are Arsenal banned from wearing their home kit?

This is because the Premier League has ruled that Arsenal’s 2024-25 home kit includes too much white, with the back and side of the shirt blending into the white shorts.

With the rules requiring teams to wear strips that differ visibly from each other and contrast on the pitch, the visitors have been asked to wear their away kit this time around.

This means that Tottenham will also wear their away kit when they travel to the Emirates Stadium for the reverse fixture next year.

Spurs Web Opinion

This would not go down well with a lot of fans as this goes against the tradition of this great fixture.

Arsenal’s kit manufacturer, Adidas, have evidently made a big blunder as this is something they should have checked before designing the kit.
