Emmerdale fans demand answers as two characters disappear from the village and haven’t been seen in months
EMMERDALE fans have been calling for answers after Cathy Hope and April Windsor vanished from screens.
Both of the young residents haven’t been seen for months, and no explanation has been offered for their prolonged absence.
Cathy, played by Gabrielle Dowling, was last involved in a dark storyline involving the death of her twin brother.
Heath was killed in a car crash which shook the entire Hope family.
The teen claimed her friend Angelica King was responsible for the horror smash, but Angelica argued that it was actually Cathy behind the wheel.
This caused tension between Cathy and her dad Bob, until Angelica eventually admitted that she had been driving.
Cathy was last seen in February, when she had to go through the difficult experience of celebrating her first birthday without her twin.
The girl’s sudden disappearance has left viewers wondering what happened to her.
Similarly, April has been notably absent from Emmerdale.
Her most recent appearance on the soap was in March, when she visited her dad in hospital after he had a stroke.
April had been going through a difficult time over the winter months as her stepmum became obsessed with new baby Ivy and started neglecting her other children, April and Leo.
Things got even worse when her dad had a drastic health scare and the girl was left worried that she might become an orphan.
Thankfully, doctors managed to remove Marlon’s blood clot and April was assured that he was going to recover.
But April has been AWOL ever since.
One Emmerdale fan took to an online forum with a humorous commentary on the situation.
They joked that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of a town seven miles from Emmerdale, called Hotten, are investigating the disappearance of both Cathy and April.
Another viewer responded, laughing: “Christ don’t advertise it they might start looking for them.”
A third joked: “Don’t worry, they’re safely stored in the teenager cupboard situated next to the 0-12 year olds cupboard where they stay until they’re required for storyline reasons.”
However, one person claimed to know the reason why the girls went missing.
They wrote: “The actors had time off for their exams and I’d imagine to enjoy their summer holidays as kids should be able to do.”
