'Kind, loving, and welcoming': Marjorie Taylor Greene goes 'woke' in surprising twist
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene delivered a shocking response to mounting discord among former President Donald Trump's MAGA entourage: She went "woke."
Greene (R-GA) took to X Thursday morning to position herself against self-described "proud Islamophobe" Laura Loomer, the far right influencer facing backlash for tweeting the White House would "smell like curry" should Vice President Kamala Harris win the 2024 presidential election.
"I’m always so proud of the kind, loving, and welcoming spirit of MAGA and the Republican Party," Greene wrote. "We have the winning policies that represent every American and put our country first."
Greene's proposed policies include legislation to criminalize gender-affirming care for trans youth, enacting a national abortion ban and bar immigration for four years.

The Democratic House majority stripped Greene of her committee assignments in 2021 over remarks they deemed to be racist.
This did not stop Greene on Thursday for condemning Loomer's remarks.
"Laura Loomer’s nasty, racist, and divisive rhetoric should not be tolerated," Greene wrote. "We are not the left."
In hammering Loomer, Greene targeted an influencer who has grown increasingly close to Trump in recent days.
Politico reports that Loomer boarded Trump's private plane Tuesday and Wednesday as he travelled to the presidential debate in Philadelphia and a Sept. 11 memorial ceremony in New York City.
Loomer, who does not work for the campaign, served as an informal adviser to Trump, according to Politico.
Greene's attack, which Politico describes as "the latest sign of discord among MAGA surrogates," was not met with blanket approval from the MAGA right.
Far-right podcaster Matt Kim replied to Greene by praising Loomer and her "pretty funny" remark and multiple followers urged the Georgia Republican to make peace with her foe for the sake of Trump's campaign.
But Democrat strategist Mike Harvey, who ran for Florida state Senate in 2022, said he was pleasantly surprised.
"I will be damned," Harvey wrote. "MTG is pushing back on the highest profile peddler in racism, bigotry, and baseless conspiracy theories. I don’t know what to say. I’m cautiously optimistic."
Satirist Chris Najdek said, "Woke Marjorie Taylor Greene is crazy."
