Arshdeep Singh Delivers Fiery Send-Off to Riyan Parag in Duleep Trophy Clash
A T20 match would have passed for an India A vs. India D Duleep Trophy second-round match until Riyan Parag took the wicket. That is, if it weren’t for the red ball and the white clothing. Arshdeep was even more irritated when he managed to get underneath one of the bouncers and ramp it over the slip cordon for an additional boundary.
In the interim, Parag had taken advantage of off-spinner Saransh Jain with a few more attacking strokes. It was obvious that he would have his way or no way at all. In the first few overs, it appeared that Parag would have the upper hand. Until Arshdeep altered his strategy and demonstrated to his class.
Arshdeep has been on the international circuit for two and a half years, solidifying his spot in the T20Is, and during that time he learned how to recover from such an attack. He returned to Test-match length in the midst of his second over to Parag, abandoning his attempt at fancy stuff. He first bowled two balls of good length, preventing Parag from releasing his arms, and then he got one ball to go off the same length at an angle. Parag, determined to establish his dominance, became entangled in it. He struck it hard with his hands, gained an advantage, and Devdutt Padikkal caught him at the second slip.
Arshdeep felt elated. After hitting another quick-fire 37 off 29 balls, Parag took a long walk back, and he let out a yell and a few expletives to bid him farewell.
