BCCI’s Views on Champions Trophy as ICC tells Pakistan their Decision of ‘No Plans to Shift’

0

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) can have some relief as ICC confirmed that they have no plans to move the Champions Trophy out of Pakistan. India being unclear for the tour to Pakistan left PCB struggling to breathe. The team has not travelled to Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup due to political tensions.

Even though the PCB were positive on hosting the Champions Trophy, they were not at peace as India’s refusal to tour Pakistan for the event would force ICC to think about relocating taking the financial loss that the boards have suffered.

Jay Shah being elected as the ICC Chairman also has added to the concerns. However the ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice has given confirmation about the board having no plans to shift the tournament out of Pakistan.

“As of now, the Champions Trophy is scheduled to be staged in Pakistan and we have no such plans to move it out of there. We are trying to find a solution but for the time being, we are sticking to the same plans,” said Allardice.
